We offer a wide range of hobbing machines to cut spur and helical gears splines and worm wheels, cluster gears and steering pinions.
Machines up to workpiece diameters of 400mm and gear teeth of up to 6 mm Normal Module are designed to enable cutting using either dry or wet technology.
These smaller machines are direct drive using Siemens CNC control for high precision hob and workpiece spindle synchronisation.
The larger machines available require greater torque and have hydraulically compensated double worm gear drives to hob components with a diameter of up to 2,200mm.
At the other end of the scale, we can also supply special CNC hobbing machines capable of cutting fine pitch gears with very low module (down to 0.2mm) and small workpiece diameter (down to 2mm) at very high spindle speeds.
We also offer a wide range of expandable work and tool holding, from Konig a market leader in their field. These products offer unrivalled precision, accuracy, and repeatability, with a wide range of applications.
Samputensili have developed a series of chamfer and deburr machines to remove burrs produced in hobbing and add the required chamfer to tooth edges.
For high volume / low variation production, as in the automotive industry, Samputensili have developed integrated hobbing and chamfer & deburring machines to combine two traditionally separate operations onto one cellular unit.
Both hobbing machines and chamfer & deburr machines can be set up for either manual loading or fully automated and integrated with other equipment
We can offer a range of gear grinding machines to grind either internal or external spur or helical gears, worms, rotors and other screw type components. Up to workpiece diameters of 500 mm, the machines can use either ceramic dressable grinding wheels or dedicated CBN plated wheels. Machines are available to perform profile grinding, shave grinding by tooth by tooth indexing or continuous generative grinding using profiled CBN or ceramic worm grinding tools.
Expandable hydraulic tool holding is also available for this type of operation, used for maximum repeatability, internal spline clamping, and stack grinding multiple components.
Due to our principals’ relationship with partners Bourn & Koch Inc and Fellows, we can offer gear shaping machines with the Fellows patented Hydrostroke design. The range of shaping machines allow for gear forming on components with a maximum diameter of 2,550mm, face width of 200mm and a normal module of 13mm
Pharos Gear Technology Ltd also offers machines for milling or grinding worms and screw type components as used in many drive chains, motors and compressors.

We represent Konig mtm who offer a variety of high precision tool holding, work holding and inspection equipment. Using self contained internal hydraulic expansion; run-out accuracies of 0.003mm can be achieved repeatedly without laborious clocking up and re-measurement.
Konig also offer lightweight hydraulic arbors for inspection and high accuracy mechanical clamping arbors using Konig’s mechanical multi-taper design.
We can also supply hydraulic locking nuts for use on systems such as the Konig arbors, typically used on transmission components.
